Extended Online Services
The extended online services offered by the VAT Department may be accessed by using the enhanced version of the Electronic Identity (e-ID) which makes use of digital certificates. The digital certificate is an electronic file which is downloaded from the Government services website
myGov.mt
and safely stored on the user's computer. It is issued by Government's Certification Authority
.
In order to
start making use of the Value Added Tax services
and other Government online services please register for an e-ID at the Valletta Registration Office at 217, St. Paul's Street (same building as the Passport Office). The office may also be contacted on telephone number 2122 6627.
Existing users of the e-ID
may log in to
http://www.mygov.mt
to download their digital certificate which is required to submit an online VAT Return or Declaration.
VAT registered persons may submit their VAT Returns or Declarations and effect payment, either by using the easy debit/credit card payment facility on this website or through the Internet Banking services offered by the HSBC and BOV. This new service should facilitate the timely submission of VAT Returns or Declarations, and giving the advantage of complying with VAT obligations from the comfort of your home or office.
Services may also be made accessible online to the representatives of VAT registered persons through the new "delegation" function avaliable on
myGov.mt.
